Listing and selling items on Amazon Marketplace can generate some extra money, with more experience you also have the potential
to increase your earnings. Once a Marketplace seller account has been registered you can
begin listing your items immediately and get them seen via thousands of buyers visiting Amazon.
Before listing any products for sale, it is important to remember that you can only list the same items Amazon are currently
selling as brand new on their site. This is the main restriction compared to auction websites where you can basically sell what you
want. Although this may prevent you listing certain items it does have some advantages. A stock photo is included in the
page for the product where all Marketplace listings for the same item will appear, so you are not required to take a picture
of the item yourself and upload it. The buyer will see the product photo and will identify it is the item they are
looking to purchase. Product description, technical information, reviews or music samples are already included on the Amazon
page where you can buy the product brand new - Marketplace buyers can always refer to this page before buying from Amazon
directly or from a third party Marketplace seller. This will save a vast amount of time if you're expecting to list many
items, so you can simply concentrate more on researching products that sell effectively and increase earnings more quickly.
Listing secondhand products on Amazon Marketplace
When listing items you need to ensure the product features of your item corresponds with the same item Amazon are selling as new. For example, there can be multiple versions of the same DVD/film, some will have different features such as the region no, widescreen, limited or collectors edition. When listing, make sure the features match for the one you are putting up for sale. This is also applicable to music CDs, software and other products, if you are unsure check how many versions of the product exist before confirming any listings.
Viewing Marketplace products for sale
To view third party products for sale you can search using Amazon's main search box, once on the product page click on the 'Used & New' link on the right hand side of the page in the 'More Buying Choices' box. An example of this can be found here. This link will only appear if there are items currently listed by third party sellers. Clicking on the link will display a new page containing a product photo (at the top of the page) and a list of all the sellers who are listing the item. An example of this is shown here. Each listing will display the sale price, condition, sellers ID/name, feedback rating, delivery information and a comment usually explaining further delivery information or condition of the item. Listings are sorted from lowest to increasing prices, you can also choose to display items that are either only new, used or both. Buyers will click the 'Add to Basket' button for the item they want and will then proceed and pay at the Amazon checkout. Marketplace listings can vary, if the item is scarce there maybe 1 or 2 listings commanding a higher price, more common items will sell for less and is quite usual to see 10 or more Marketplace listings.

'In original packaging, brand new. Item will be sent via 1st class post usually within 24 hrs'.

Domestic, European, US and international
Confirm
The final step is to confirm the details in the previous 2 steps. A review of the details given will be displayed.
At this stage, you can choose to go back and edit any of the details or proceed
to list the item. When you are happy with the information you can confirm the item is ready to list, once completed
your item will be listed on amazon Marketplace immediately. If you have not already logged into your Marketplace account, you
will be required to login before committing the listing.
Overall, it is very straightforward process for listing secondhand products on Amazon Marketplace. For basic Marketplace
sellers you will need to follow the above steps to list each item (Pro-merchant sellers have access to tools for uploading their inventory in bulk).
Duration of product listings on Amazon Marketplace
Each listing will remain live on Amazon Marketplace until the item is sold, in which case the seller will receive a 'Sold--dispatch now!' email advising of the sale. Listed items can also be cancelled manually by the seller and will be removed from the Marketplace listings page. If the item is neither sold nor cancelled it will remain listed indefinitely without further costs as there are no monthly listing fees. As previously mentioned there is of course a monthly subscription to pay if you are a Pro-merchant seller but you are not limited to how much you can list in any one month.
