Home > Taking part in YouGov paid surveys

One of the main benefits of taking part in the YouGov surveys is that they are all completed inside the YouGov website. Some survey companies are known to take you to a third party site where you complete the survey and subsequently return to the main survey site which can be distracting. There are 2 ways that YouGov will inform you of new surveys, an email will be sent to your registered email address. Alternatively, you can simply log in to your 'My YouGov' panel, surveys ready to be completed are listed under the 'Surveys' tab in the 'Available' section. You can use either method to check if there are any surveys pending. All completed surveys are listed in the 'Completed' tab in the panel area. The other thing to note is that the surveys are fairly short in size and therefore will take around 5-10 minutes to finish. This is unlike some other survey sites that will ask you to spend around 20-30 minutes of your time answering lots of questions. The YouGov website regularly publishes the results of all surveys so if you are curious you can choose to view this section of the YouGov website. As mentioned earlier, you may soon notice the results of the polls in the media, from magazines, newspapers and the television and may recognise some of the polls that you have contributed to.

UK paid survey cash and prize rewards

Yougov offers cash rewards for completed surveys or entries into prize draws to win cash. Most cash surveys will typically pay £0.50, as soon as you have completed a survey the reward (if it is money) is added to your accumulated earnings that is visible in the 'Current Credit' section of the panel area. You will be entered into a prize draw to win cash if this is the reward type for the survey to be completed. As referred to earlier, the 'Available' section will list all pending surveys and will indicate the type of reward on offer. The reward type is also confirmed before starting any survey so you will know in advance how you will be credited.

Free prize draw entries

Completing surveys for prize draw entries is a great incentive to increase your chances of winning a cash prize and earn even more money. For example, one survey offered the following cash prize draws: 1 cheque of £1000, 4 cheques of £250 and 10 cheques of £50, in all there were 15 cash prizes available to win. Some competitions are often for a single prize draw amount of £25. In a typical month you could expect to receive around 2-4 surveys that pay immediate cash, the rest of these will offer the free prize draw entries to win money. Competition Winners are also published on the YouGov website on a monthly basis so you can see details of other panel members that have successfully won a cash prize.

Of course you are not expected to participate in any or all of the surveys offered so you can pick and choose which ones and which type of surveys you want to take part in. Obviously, the more surveys taken the more money you will accumulate and the more free entry prize draws you will be entered into.

Getting paid

The payout threshold is currently £50 so it can take a while to reach this limit until you get paid. Once you have reached the limit you will be sent a cheque through the post so it is a safe form of payment. Payment is not made via supplying bank account details on the YouGov site so you don't have to worry about providing these details online. Signing up to one survey site will limit the amount you can earn, but signing upto several others will mean you can make more money over time.
